Toolbelt Installation Guide

Linux Installation

Requirements

  • Urchin 6.5+ with valid serial
  • 32-bit Linux 2.6 Kernel
  • A working version of tar (GNU tar is fine)
  • Access to the root account, the account under which the Urchin binary runs, or the ability to use sudo
  • Shell access to the target machine

Installation

  1. Unpack the installer that was downloaded:

    $ tar zxvf toolbelt-linux-x86.run.tar.gz

  2. Run the installer:

    $ sudo su urchin
    $ ./toolbelt-linux-x86.run

  3. Follow the prompts from there. Note that when asked for the location of
    your Urchin installation, you need to supply the top-level Urchin
    directory (eg: /usr/local/urchin). If the default path is correct, simply
    hit enter. Also note that this prompt supports tab completion for paths.
  4. Uninstallation

    The uninstaller script is located at:

    /path/to/urchin/util/uninstalltoolbelt.sh

    This will completely remove the /path/to/urchin/htdocs/amtools directory
    and everything in it. You must be root, the urchin user, or use sudo to
    run this script.

    Notes

    The Toolbelt will install files in /path/to/urchin/htdocs/amtools
